Doctor Who Season Premiere Date Night!

Tonight is the Season 8 Premiere of Doctor Who! I am so excited about getting to know Peter Capaldi’s Doctor!

In preparation for our date night tonight we have loaded up on snacks. I am pretty sure we have something for whatever mood may strike us while watching the new Doctor.

I am so excited for tonight. Trent and I will be parked in front of the tv watching the premiere and stuffing our faces!

What are you doing tonight? Anyone else watching Doctor Who?

Thanks for reading!

It’s been awhile

It has been a few weeks since I posted.  Here is a quick rundown of Liam’s progress:

He has had a mini-word explosion!  He has started actually calling me Mama!  Also, he can count and identify his numbers 1-9.  He can also identify and say some shapes.  His favorite shape is the oval, but he can say square, rectangle, triangle and we are still working on saying circle (he can point it out just fine).  He loves Little Einsteins and will say and do their little “pat pat pat…blast off” .  Also, ducks say “quack quack”.  We have also been making sure he can say and identify all these new words in different presentations and HE CAN!!  We worked on shape names from a coloring book and not just his puzzle that he loves.  He can find and say numbers anywhere and not just with his fridge magnets at home.

He has also started saying “please”, “more”, and “all done” in context and not just signing them. I was trying to describe to some of my girlfriends what it is like when Liam just busts out with words and the closest thing I could find was an out-of-body experience.  I seriously feel like I am floating outside of my head.

In other news I am up to date with Doctor Who and have tried to rope Trent into watching it.  I am re-watching it with him & he made it through all of Season One and some of Season 2 but he isn’t sure he likes it.  I just said “Oh okay” and then I got up in the middle of the night last weekend and he had watched another episode on Netflix.  HAHA RESISTANCE IS FUTILE! You can not resist the mad man and his box for long!  He said some of the episodes are too goofy and I just again said “okay” but I know he will cave! 🙂

Well, that is the quick and dirty run down of the last few weeks.  I’m back in the (blogging) saddle.  Liam is going to be three next month.  Holy crap.  So I am busy planning his party AND psyching myself up for his IEP meeting for his transition from Early Steps to the school system….YIKES!

“The Angels Have the Police Box” and I may never sleep again.

Ok.  This episode is seriously insane.  I’m not sure what to say about the person’s brain who came up with this idea of weeping angels other than disturbing!  What is worse is that I don’t know what it says about my brain that I want to watch this episode again and get creeped right the heck out all over again!

phoneboxI want that shirt!!

I am going through this series as spoiler free as possible.  So while Liam was taking a nap on the couch a few days ago I decided to pull up the old Netflix on my laptop and watch my new Doctor Who episode “Blink”.  Basically this happened:

weeping angel 1weeping angeldo not want to see

What was that??

No one died a really horrible death or anything but it still freaked me the heck out.  Doctor Who just keeps surprising me.  I’m not really giving in-depth reviews of episodes here because I am sure someone has said everything about these older episodes that needs to be said so I am just going to continue posting my reactions of episodes that cause a reaction in me.  I hope someone can get some enjoyment out of my new to Who fangirling.

What was that noise? Oh just me crying like a baby in Barnes and Noble.

So we are finally getting back into the swing of things after our move.  Liam hasn’t been to his Therapy School in about 5 weeks and today was his first day back.  I was worried he would have a tough time so I decided to stay close to the school.  I brought my laptop and went to Barnes and Noble and used their WiFi to watch some Doctor Who.

The episodes I watched?  “Army of Ghosts” and “Doomsday”.

This was me in the cafe of Barnes & Noble:

I mean I am a Whedonite so when I am watching a Joss show I expect sad/awful/horrible/painful deaths to happen every episode.  For some reason I decided to try to remain spoiler free (for the first time ever…I usually am all about spoilers with my shows) while watching Doctor Who, so while I knew eventually Rose would move on I was clearly delusional and thought she would be around for a long time.  I did not expect for Rose and The Doctor to be forcibly separated!  What in the actual heck???  I can not even process yet.  Plus I was watching all this in public and trying not to look like a total lunatic…I am pretty sure I failed.

Oh and Liam re-adjusted to school just fine…it was just his Mama that had issues.
