Hello my friends! Today I want to share with you all of my favorite things from 2015!
I haven’t done a monthly favorites in a long time, but I’ve had quite a few things I’ve really enjoyed this month and wanted to share them with you, so I decided to do a favorites post!
My new friend Roo on Instagram (Go follow her! She does epic makeup looks and loves tea!) recommended Hot Cinnamon Spice Tea by Harney & Sons and I have been obsessed with it since it arrived. If you ever loved red hot candies as a kid (or if you are like me, I still love them) this tea is like drinking the candy in liquid form. I add a splash of almond milk and it’s just amazing.
Our family is starting to explore Essential Oils for various reasons and after a TON of personal research, my favorite companies are Edens Garden and Plant Therapy. I will be doing a full post on which oils we are using and why, but my two favorite oils this month are Sunshine Spice and Good Night.
Sunshine Spice is a blend of the following oils: Balsam, Camphor, Cinnamon Bark, Cinnamon Leaf, Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globulus) and Sweet Orange. I add it to Fractionated Coconut Oil put in a perfume roller ball and have been wearing it as a perfume. It is a very uplifting and a great fall scent!
Good Night is a blend of Chamomile, Clary Sage, Copaiba, Lavender, Peru Balsam, Sandalwood, Sweet Marjoram and Ylang Ylang. We are a family of insomniacs. Liam has trouble sleeping (which is typical for some ASD kids) which throws my sleep schedule off as well. We blend this with Fractionated Coconut Oil in a roller ball and apply it to Liam’s feet and the back of his neck and it has made such a difference! I also use it on myself (I apply it to my feet and my wrists) and while it doesn’t help me fall asleep, I do feel it helps me to stay sleeping longer.
One of the nail polishes I have been obsessed with this month is Zoya’s Cinnamon. I am terrible with nail polish, so if I am taking the time to use it, I am really and truly obsessed. It’s really a perfect fall color.
Finally, I want to talk about Supernatural Season 11 because, HOLY CRAP!!
You’d think after 11 seasons, there wouldn’t be anything new that this show could do, but Supernatural is kicking butt and just churning out great television. Specifically, the recent episode Baby, which takes place from the Impala’s point of view. It has moved into one of my absolute favorite episodes. I don’t want to post spoilers because it’s a very new episode, but it was just an amazing episode full of brother moments.
Well, that’s about it for this favorites post, what have you been obsessed with this past month?
Thanks for reading!
If you follow me on Instagram then you probably already know that I have an obsession with loose leaf tea. I can not get enough of it. I especially love finding yummy blends of loose leaf tea that I don’t want to add sugar to so that I can really enjoy the experience. Of course, when I was given a chance to try a blend called Good Mood Tea by a new to me company called Culinary Teas I had to take it! I mean who doesn’t want to try something called Good Mood Tea??
I am not anywhere near a tea snob, but I am super picky about what teas I would recommend to a loose leaf newbie and I have to say this tea is quite easy to drink. Obviously, you can add milk and sugar but this tea doesn’t really need it. It is a black tea blend with bits of dried orange, white chocolate shavings, butterscotch chips and chocolate nibs along with several other great ingredients that round out the tea.
I also really love that if you want to try it you can order a 1 0z sample size for 3.75 so you won’t be investing a ton of money into a tea you may or may not enjoy. You can buy samples of all of their teas and I have already made a very long list of samples I want to check out. Some of the teas on the top of that list are Blood Orange Tea, Blueberry Vanilla Cream Tea and Chocolate Caramel Turtle Tea. I mean really with teas like that you can get your dessert fix without all the calories!!
Do you drink loose leaf tea? Do you have a favorite tea I should try?
Hello friends! I have had kind of a crazy busy personal life the last few months and haven’t been posting regularly and I have missed this community so much! Even though I haven’t been posting as much, I was still thinking about you guys and I have been randomly grabbing items that I love and use a ton to put together this giveaway!
This is truly a random mix of items, but I absolutely stand behind their awesomeness!
If you follow me on Instagram, you already know of my love of David’s Tea. To put it mildly I am obsessed! I decided to grab this 12 sachet tin because it is a great sampler of four different teas and there should be something for everyone.
Chocolate Rocket is labeled as a stimulant and is a great replacement for coffee or soda in the morning and with all the chocolatey goodness, you don’t need to add a ton of sugar!
Read My Lips is a low caffeine black tea with vanilla, chocolate, peppermint and candy red lips for a touch more sweetness!
North African Mint is a low caffeine green tea with ginger, cardamom, peppermint, licorice root, fennel, clove, black pepper. This tea has a bit of a kick, but when I had a stomach bug a few weeks ago, this was my go to drink!
Mother’s Little Helper is a caffeine free herbal tea and this is my favorite of this bunch! This tea has valerian root and chamomile and is perfect to help you relax at the end of the day!
My favorite way to drink my tea in the mornings is using the Aladdin Perfect Cup Tea Infuser. This is the perfect way to drink your tea on the go! You can put tea bags or loose leaf tea in the basket and when it is done steeping, the basket flips back up into the lid and out of the tea. No more over steeped bitter tea! This is perfect for commuting!
Next up: two vegan eyeshadows from Kiss My Sass Swagger and my favorite eyeshadow of 2014 Steampunk! Kiss My Sass Cosmetics is an amazing cruelty free company with a ton of vegan options! They sell perfume, bath products and of course cosmetics!
Last but not least is BECCA’s Beach Tint in Guava. It is a sheer wash of pretty coral pink that can be used on your cheeks and lips!
I’m so excited for this giveaway! Please click on the Rafflecopter link below to enter. This giveaway is limited to US residents only and will end on 5/11/15.
In the last few months I decided to give up soda in an effort to clean up my diet. I am not a big coffee drinker so I decided to replace my morning Coke with tea. I tried several brands before stumbling onto a review for David’s Tea. If you are following me on Instagram then you already know about my love of David’s Tea. Everything I have tried has been excellent and I am hooked!
I ordered The Christmas Morning Collection (this is still available and it’s 40% off!) and The Happy Collection (which no longer seems to be available, but you can still purchase the individual teas). Every time you place an order, David’s Tea will send you three free samples!
Now on to the individual teas!
Bubbie’s Baklava: this is a low caffeine Oolong tea that contains walnuts, almonds, pistachios, pineapple, papaya, cinnamon, apple and ginger. It tastes like dessert!
Santa’s Secret is a medium caffeine black tea with candy cane sprinkles. This is great first thing in the morning!
Cocomint Cream is a fruit infusion with no caffeine. It contains coconut, apples, sweet blackberry leaves, peppermint and spearing. This is a great tea to relax with at the end of the day, you can also drink this as an iced tea!
The Happy Collection came with three bags of tea and a ten pack of tea filters.
The tea filters are pretty generously sized and easy to use. Please ignore the random Kiefer hair in the pic below.
Forever Nuts is a fruit infusion with no caffeine. This tea contains apples, almonds, cinnamon and beetroot. This is also a tea you can drink iced and due to the beetroot the tea turns into a bright pink color!
Birthday Cake is a Rooibos tea that is caffeine free. This tea contains milk and soy and SPRINKLES! When you steep this tea it actually smells like birthday cake. Love it!
Happy Kombucha is a low caffeine Oolong tea that contains mango, pineapple, safflower petals and of course Kombucha powder. I had never heard of Kombucha so I wasn’t sure I would care for this tea, but just like everything else I have tried from David’s it was yummy!
Well friends, that wraps up this tea haul and review. I have already placed another order with David’s Tea and ordered a little something extra for a giveaway I am working on for you guys!
Have you tried anything from David’s Tea? Do you have a favorite tea I should try?
