I have been super busy using the KonMari Method of organizing my home and I am working on a full review of Marie Kondo’s book and how the KonMari Method worked for me.
Today, we are going to talk about Lipstick Queen! I have been on a lip product buying binge (Colour Pop haul and review will also be coming soon) and I wanted to give you my thoughts on three of the sheer lipsticks from Lipstick Queen. I purchased these items on QVC, but Ulta also carries Lipstick Queen in store if you want to swatch before you buy.
The first thing I bought was Blue Jean Queen. Blue Jean Queen is described as A super-sheer lipstick that moisturizes as it glides on. Jean Queen is the ultimate shade to wear with denim that takes your jeans from drab to fab! As nude may wash you out, Jean Queen is specifically designed to contrast with denim and light up your whole face. Well, since I practically live in jeans I had to try this lipstick!
They aren’t kidding about Jean Queen being super sheer, I had to apply three layers in the picture below for it to really show up, but I really do love it. It’s so easy to wear and in this picture I was on my way to a massage, but still had to look presentable for school drop off, so I put on some CC Cream, filled in my brows and quickly applied Blue Jean Queen. This has quickly become a must have lipstick for me because it goes with everything and is so easy to wear!
Let’s play a game! See if you can spot the random Kiefer hair in some of the pics further down. One of the “problems” of having such a snuggly handsome guy is that Kiefer hair gets EVERYWHERE!!
Up next is a set that QVC offers in Saint Rose and Saint Wine, it also comes in a super cute bag.
Saint lipsticks are sheer (the Sinner line has opaque versions of the Saint Colors). Per the QVC website Saint Lipsticks deliver super-flattering color in one super-hydrating swipe. Lips are left kissably soft, super-moisturized and tinted with the most glamorous and seductive touches of color.
Saint Rose is described as seductive-yet-chic romantic pink that lights up all complexions. I am wearing my typical five minute look below with CC Cream, concealer, an eye shadow that matches my skintone and mascara. Most mornings are all about getting dressed and on the way to school as fast as possible. I have been suffering from serious allergies so apologies for the red nose and blood shot eyes. If I waited around for the allergies to clear up, I would never be able to take pictures!!
Saint Wine is described as decadent rich burgundy that makes fall’s deep statement lip ultra-wearable. I actually put on some eyeshadow for the picture below, because Liam woke up at 4:00 in the morning so I had a little more time than normal to get ready for drop off. 🙂
Now for swatches!
I have to say I am really glad I tried some items from Lipstick Queen! They are very easy to wear and provided you don’t try and eat a whole meal the color will stay put for quite awhile. If you are like me and have approximately 5 minutes to get yourself ready before getting a kid dressed and out the door, you should totally try a few items from the Saint line! The three I tried range from $20-$25 if purchased individually (similar price range to Too Faced’s La Creme Lipsticks). I will absolutely be purchasing more lip products from Lipstick Queen in the future (I already have a list which includes Frog Prince and Hello Sailor). Some of the more expensive lipsticks from this brand can get up to $50 and while I’m not sure I can bring myself to purchase a single lipstick for that amount of money, if I get an Ulta gift card I may splurge!
Have you tried anything from Lipstick Queen? Tell me what you tried and if you loved it!
Thanks for reading!!
