2014 Beauty Favorites (It Cosmetics, Josie Maran & More!)

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

My major resolution for 2014 was to get educated on skin care and makeup. With the exception of eyeliner, which I still have issues with because I can’t see without my glasses, I feel I have come a really long way! I have found a lot of products and companies that I like and even love, but I have limited this list to the products that have really rocked my world this year!

Let’s get started!

Skin Care

Josie Maran’s Argan Oil: (Vegan) I know this has been around for a long time, but I am so glad I decided to try it! It has replaced my night time serums and moisturizers and my skin is in great shape. My husband also has been using it to replace his after shave gel when he shaves his head and he says he loves how it makes his head feel 🙂

Rosemira Citrus Blossom I-Restore Eye Cream: Everything I tried from Rosemira has been excellent. My absolute favorite is the Citrus Blossom I-Restore Eye Cream. I use this at night in combination with my Argan Oil and this eye cream has revitalized my under eye area. No more dry/patchy skin around my eyes!

Pelle Beauty Stellar Multitasking Facial Oil: (Vegan) You guys, this oil is my everything. You can use it so many different ways! When I went on my girls weekend, I took this with me and used it as my eye makeup remover, daily moisturizer and hair serum. I also use this to tame Liam’s fly away hair. I am almost half way through the bottle I received as a birthday gift from Marnie because I can not stop using it. This product is an always repurchase for me!

Makeup

I have broken this down into sections, mostly because it makes sense in my brain to list these in close to application order, also it’s my blog so I do what I want 🙂

Face Products:

It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream: This CC Cream provides the same coverage as a medium to full foundation, and is a great multi-tasking product. This is a combination moisturizer, primer and foundation. It looks great all on it’s own, but I have recently been applying it with the Real Techniques Multi-Tasking Face Brush in a thin layer all over my face as a primer for the next item on the list

It Cosmetics Celebration Foundation: This is a product I didn’t love at first, but the more I played with it and found the best way (for me) to wear it is in combination with the CC Cream and I’m now loving it! Once I started using this in combination with the CC Cream, I have had several people comment on how good my skin looked, which has never ever happened to me!

CROPPED IT DUO

Anastasia Brow Wiz in Dark Brown: Okay people, I’m not sure how I made it my entire life prior to this year not filling in my brows but I will never go back! I have bald patches in my brows and I always assumed that using brow products would be hard, but I have never been more happy to be wrong! This is the product that even if I have no time for makeup, I will make time for my brows. It may be weird to call a makeup product life changing, but that is how I feel!

Eyeshadow:

High(ish) End:
Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette: This truly lives up to the hype. The eyeshadows are beautiful and apply and blend like a dream. I really think if you want to invest in a big palette, you should try this one! Also, it smells yummy!

Single Shadow:
Kiss My Sass in Steam Punk. (Vegan) I have been obsessively wearing this eyeshadow every single day since it arrived in the mail. It is getting to the point that I may actually have to put it away, just so I can wear some other shadows. It is described as a medium brown with an almost metallic finish, but I’m not sure that does it justice. It is so so gorgeous and as soon as it is back in stock, I am going to buy back ups. YOU NEED THIS EYESHADOW IN YOUR LIFE!

Blush and Highlighters

Highlighter:

The Balm’s Mary Lou-Manizer: is the hands down winner for this category. It is super super shimmery (but not glittery) and pigmented and you can easily end up with way too much on and look a little crazy. I like to use a very thin fan brush to apply to my cheeks, under my brows and sometimes if I’m feeling fancy on my cupid’s bow. If you want to try it don’t pay full price, The Balm is on HauteLook every few months!

Tarte’s Exposed (Amazonian Clay Blush) This is a great everyday shade that is almost impossible to mess up, which is why I love it!

It Cosmetics Radiant in Rose: This is a highly (EXTREMELY) pigmented blush stain that is gorgeous.  There is a slight learning curve, because even when you think you are using a super light hand, it is probably still too much, but I love the texture and the staying power! I will be trying some other shades!

So, what was my absolute favorite beauty related item this year?

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Hands down it is the Stellar Multitasking Facial Oil. This product changed my beauty routine by making it simple and easy. I love it and if I had a ton of money, I would buy this for everyone I know! Please do yourself a huge favor and check it out!

Well, that wraps up my first ever Beauty Favorites post. I hope you enjoyed it! What were some of your favorite beauty items this year?

Now that I am done with this post I am going to go watch and read everyone else’s favorites videos. I wouldn’t let myself see any of them because I didn’t want to be influenced to add things to my list…also, let’s be real: I would have been so busy watching and commenting on those videos, that this post would never have gone up!

Thanks for reading!
